Turn your wounds into wisdom

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”Steven Kloves, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (movie)

I’m on my eight weeks post-operation.

I’ve never been outside the house except when I needed to go to the hospital for my check-up.

During this period I’m learning a lot about how powerful the human spirit is when it comes to our physical and emotional strength.

Physically, because at this time I still could not bear weight on my left foot. Although I could already step it on the floor, I still could not walk.

And because of that, I’m forced to move using just my right leg.

I hop, I slide, I dance gangnam style with my right leg just to get from pt A to pt B. Sometimes I even use my arms to crawl.

Yes I do crawl.  I crawl when my les gets tired.

Emotionally, because there are times when I am unable to do simple things easily like turning on the lights.

I sometimes get frustrated.

At times I get mad with my situation.

But amidst my predicament I still manage to be grateful.

I always remember that everytime you think of how awful your situation is at the present, the more you would get more of the “bad” into your future.

So I thought of three great things I can gain to what’s happened to me and they are:

1. I get to spend a lot of time with my kids

I am actually giving almost every minute of my life now with them.

I get to see how they grow, how they act, how they speak, how they throw temper tantrums.

Here’s what I learned, every child has their own angels and demons inside them.

Yes, all children have it.

By the way, do you want to know which side of your child would grow?

The answer is simple, the one that you pay attention to.

So, I always give more regard to their good qualities than their bad qualities.

We play, we wrestle, we read books,  watch TV, sometimes even take a bath together.
(Yep, the things you can do with your kids aged 2 and 5.)

2. I am able to rest my mind and body

I’ve been working so hard for as long as I can remember, my mind and body has spent a lot of energy from work, sports activity, business planning etc.

I think I got myself caught up in a “rat race” where we just wanted to work, work, work, work and with little time to spare play.

Now because of my injury I’m more of lying on bed for at least 23 hours a day.

Talk about total mind and body rest huh.

3. I get to improve myself

In Jack Canfield’s book, “The Success Principles”, he said that we as humans must always to strive for constant never ending need of self-improvement.

Because of my injury, I now am able to read a lot of books, articles and learn a lot about life.

Life is a journey, and along the journey you should always keep on learning.

It is because the moment you stop learning, you start dying.

That is why I am using this great opportunity to make myself better, in all areas of my life.

Thank God for problems

Everytime you encountered some unexpected detour or problems in life, don’t get discouraged right away, because blessings do come beneath every adversity.

Let me tell you a story.

In Alaska, there has been an increased number of cod fishing.

(codfish)

There were said that codfishes are delicious to eat especially when it is baked or poached.

News of this kind of fish reached the China.

The problem is the shipping.  At first they tried to deliver the codfish frozen but the people in the south complained that the fish looses its taste because of the long journey.

They then tried a different approach. This time they kept the codfish alive, but again because of the travel plus the fact that the codfish does not move a lot, it made the fish mushy upon reaching port and also lost its taste.

Then one person came up with an idea, they mixed some catfish together with the codfish.

Catfish are found to be the enemy of the codfish.  Once they saw them they now stayed alert, and they always move around because the catfish are chasing them.

Hence when they reach port, the codfish are there alive and fresh.

Opportunities in every crisis

Friends, do you have problems in your life now?

Have you encountered an obstacle that seemed too big to overcome?

Are you being hunted by a grief, boredom or sadness ?

Sometimes I wondered, when bad things are happening to us, we ask God, “Why did this happen to me?”

But have you ever asked the same question when good things have come about?

We have the tendency to look on the negative with a magnifying glass, but the problem is, whatever we focus on grows.

Friends, just stay strong.

You may have a catfish in your life now, but always remember that catfish is sent by God as a medium for your abundance.

There is always good in every bad.

My injury would not prevent me in seeing God’s favor, he sent me my catfish to bless me.

You may not see it in your life now, but again, the very thing that is hurting your right now, could be the same thing that could catapult you into greatness.

Have a wonderful life.

The detours of life

"No matter how much you try to manage your life, there will always be things that will be out of your control. But that’s why you have Me. I am the God that has power over life and death. I make the world go around and keep the planets turning in their proper places. And I am the same God who walks with you every moment of your day". - God

On August 17.2012, just barely 2 months as of today, I was playing an intense basketball game. We were on defense and one of our opponent drove to the basket, I jumped high hoping to block his shot, when I went down, I heard a popping sound at the back of my left heel, and felt a terrible pain after.

The funny thing is that I didn’t even fell down the floor, I kept my balance and limped off the bench without anyone assisting me. However as I sit, I knew that what I have is something serious, I knew that this was no ordinary cramp I sometimes experienced during the game, it was a different feeling.

I was right, three days after the injury, after much swelling in my foot and difficulty in walking, me and my wife went to the hospital to have it checked-up, and there I was told by the doctors that I tore my Achilles tendon, and I needed surgery.

I’ve always been a big fan a basketball and everytime I hear players getting injured  due to Achilles tendon or ACL (knee injury), i felt like it sounded good. I mean, “Achilles tendon” sounds very cool right, so “sossy”, so sophisticated, but in the end when people ask you, all you can say is “napilayan ako eh”.

Believe me, there is nothing cool with this type of injury most specially when the doctors said that I needed surgery.  Main reason, I was afraid of needles!  I can’t even watch the nurses put dextrose needle on my wife’s hand during her pregnancy! That is why I told myself, I f I were to die, I want to die a healthy natural death.  No injections please!

But it has to happen, so the surgery took place on August 25th, and I was put on a cast up to this date.

Road of life is not always straight

I shared my story to you just to let you know that Life does have some detours.

A failed relationship is a detour.

A failed business is a detour.

A health problem is a detour.

A dead-end job is a detour.

You maybe coasting along now, living your life, you think you are doing fine, all of a sudden, a disaster comes in.

It happens unexpectedly, for no apparent reason. You ask God why did He let this things happen.

I  sometimes  refer to the detours as God’s disturbance.

Yes he does sometimes disturb our peace. But he does it for a reason.

He wants to see how we respond.

How we respond would more likely define our future.

Best-selling author Jack Canfield said that an event + response = outcome (E + R = O).

There are many events in our life that we can’t control.

It just happens, but what we can control is how we respond to this event.

Many people are just too focused on the things that they could not control.

If you have lost your job, someone dear to you walked out of your life, instead of wallowing in self pity, feeling sorry for yourself,  go get up and try to improve yourself.

It could be reading a new book to get a new skill, or maybe put up your own business. Or you could try to be a more loving, or a more caring person. In short try to improve on yourself.

Detours like failures are temporary defeats not a dead end

Detours are designed for us to know that there is a better highway or a bigger mountain that awaits us.

There was this man who was trying so hard on his job to become successful, he works so hard everyday, he goes overtime about three times a week, he even sometimes work during on weekends.

The problem is no matter how hard he tried, he seemed could not achieve success, he was passed over promotion not only once but three times in his career. He was liked climbing this mountain of his dreams and something seems to be blocking his path.

On his 5th year working, his company merged into another company and a mass lay-off of workers are needed.  Unfortunately, he was one of those who lost their jobs during the merger.
He was so devastated, thinking it is the end of him. He locked himself in his apartment for two weeks feeling so depressed.

Until one day, an old friend stopped by and invited him to an opportunity meeting, it was a business orientation.  There he saw that he has hope. He got so excited and worked hard.  In less than a year he was already making three times he was making on his former job.
He realized that God did not allow for him to succeed on his mountain of dreams on his job because there was a bigger mountain which awaits for him on his business.

The happiest person in this world is the one who enjoys the scenery while on a detour.

Friend is your life in a detour now?

Just relax, stay calm.

Remember there is always calm after the storm.

Enjoy, have fun with life.

God said, when things are spinning out of control, let go of the reins and let me take over.
Trust in God.

Aim high, live life, love God.

MY BIRTHDAY

"Success is all about patterns. You can’t be good once in a while. You can’t love your spouse once in a while. You can’t stop smoking once in a while. If you want massive changes in your life, you have to do it all the time." - God whisphered

I’ve just turned 38.

Happy birthday to me!

I’ve celebrated my day with my wife and kids just inside our house recuperating from my Achilles tendon injury. It’s one birthday I surely won’t forget. For the longest time I could remember, this is one birthday where I did not get to drink any alcohol. (Yep, no beers for me this year.)

38 years is a long time, a blessing.

Considering about a month ago I’ve attended the funeral of my friend’s brother who passed away at the young age of 25. Just 5 days before his birthday.

Cause of death was said to be heart failure.

As I sit here contemplating what good have I done for myself and love ones for the past 38 years of my life, I could not go on not thinking about the mistakes I’ve done or the bad habits I’ve created and continue to do, such as negative thinking (yep, I sometimes fall into these), my being resentful and unforgiving from some of the people who hurt me, and many others. I admit there are a few “stuffs” I’ve done in my life that I may say I am not proud of.

So, I told myself, why not give myself a gift.

You see, most people, during their birthdays expects gifts from the people they love.

Am I right?

Okay, there are a few who turn tables on their special occasions and give gifts to others instead.

However, have you ever thought about giving a gift to yourself? I’m not talking about any material things like a new celfone, a new car, or maybe even a new house. Im talking about something greater than that.

Like being a better person.

In all areas of your life.

I firmly believe that if you really want to be happy in life, change must happen.

Change your course

Let me share you a story.

Their was this big ship who received a distress signal coming from bright light a few hundred miles in front of her.

The signal says, “DANGER AHEAD, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR COURSE 10 DEGREES EAST”.

The big ship then replied, “CAN NOT CHANGE COURSE, .. YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE, 10 DEGREES WEST".

Then a reply… “FINAL WARNING…CHANGE YOUR COURSE IMMEDIATELY!”

The big ship replied, “THIS IS THE CAPTAIN OF THIS NAVY BATTLESHIP, YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE!”

The bright light replIied, “I AM A SEAMAN SECOND CLASS, AND THIS IS A LIGHTHOUSE,  IT’S YOUR CHOICE.”

There times in your life when you know that things are not going your way.

Times when your are financially down, your health is deteriorating, your relationships are going sour.

I believe that these are distress signals that life is sending you. Asking you, Begging you that you are on a collision course for disaster.

But sometimes you are just too stubborn.

You don’t want to change.

You don't want to change your diet even if your cholesterol or sugar level is already up.

You don’t want to spend time with your love ones because you have to do more important things like work, that is why when you go home your kids rarely talks to you anymore.

You don’t want to invest or learn new ways of making money even though your debt is now piling up.

Friends, it’s time to change course.

Find time to be a better person.

Act your age

Do you have what it takes to succeed in your life?

If you want success, you need to create patterns of success. Habits. Rituals. Second-nature, repeated behavior.

In other words you have to learn how to grow up every year.

I just did.

Change your beliefs

"Don’t wait for opportunities to fall upon your lap. Don’t wait for chance to determine the fulfillment of your dreams. Take the first step and do not be afraid. I am with you." - God
Do not be afraid says the Lord. How many times have we tried to do something, something new, something different, like a business venture, or maybe apply for a new job, we carefully planned it to its smallest detail, but just when we are about to start, we suddenly stop. We think of a thousand reasons why it can’t be done.

If it’s a business venture, we think, what if it doesn’t work? What if my products won’t sell? What if my money I have invested does not comes back to me?

If it’s a new job, we say, what if I applied for work and nobody wants me?  What if I get hired and I won’t like the attitude of my boss? or what if it’s a job that has more responsibility?

What if? What if? What if?

Believe me, there are some people who are like that. Some people are afraid to try. Some people are afraid to take risks. They are afraid that in the end they might regret their own decision.  Let me tell you something. The only risks and regrets that you will have in your life are the things that you did not try.

Change your belief

It all starts in your beliefs. There is something called "belief system". Every product created in this world was molded by a production system. Have you ever tasted magnum ice cream? (I pity you if you haven’t) My wife loves it. She can eat it morning, noon, afternoon or night, yes even midnight.

Ever thought how that ice cream was produced? The company who sells it created a system so perfect that it produces a perfect product that everybody would crave to buy.

Another example is the iphone, nowadays almost everyone owns an iphone or at least dream of having one. But how was it that a gadget like an iphone became a worldwide phenom in terms of sales and popularity? It was because, the company Apple created a perfect world class system in designing a world class telephone.

So in other words, whatever the system is, then that is what the product would be. If you have a lousy belief system, then the product of your thoughts would also be lousy, if you have an abundant belief system, then you will have an abundant results in your life. This happens because thoughts are powerful. Thoughts become things.

If you tell yourself , “I believe I can do this!”,” it may be hard, it may be difficult but I can do this!” then you definitely can do it,  but if on the onset of a project you tell yourself, “no, im going to fail, I cant do it!” then you doomed yourself because most likely you will definitely fail.

Confucious said that the people who say he can and the people who says I can’t are absolutely right!

Live favor minded

A lot of people, because of the many hardships in life, dream no more. O yes maybe there are a few who still dream, but the problem is their dreams are so small. They do not expect great things to happen to them. Their motto in life is, “don’t expect too much, so that you won’t get hurt if you don’t get it.” I know a lot of people who thinks this way.

I remember a melody back in my high school days, I first heard it in a TV commercial then later on, I realized that it was indeed a song. It goes this way… “When I was just a little bonito, I asked my mama, what should I be? Would I be handsome? Would I be rich?...........Que sera sera, whatever will be will be, the future is not ours to see, que sera sera… what will be , will be”

What will be will be. Funny, I don’t think these words inspire you, in fact it discourages you. It let’s you know that you are not in control. Sometimes it even makes you lazy. Why? Because it subconsciously makes you not wanting to work? Why take action, what will be will be so why bother?  But you know what, most people  thinks this way. It may be a valid thinking specially if you have failed a lot in life, or if your life is just too hard. But remember God does not operate this way. God operates by faith .You have to believe first before you see.. There was a passage in the Bible that says, blessed are those who believe and have not yet seen.

Greatness exist in all of us

I’ve always been a great basketball fan, I always love watching basketball games. My favourite player growing up and until now is Michael Jordan. Of course everybody knows him, I mean who doesn’t right. He won 6 championships, 6 time MVP, voted as one of the 50 greatest players in the world. Up to this date, with all the great super stars in the NBA I don’t think anyone has topped what he has done in the game of basketball. He is said to be the greatest ever.

Many times in our lives, we think that greatness is only for people like Michael who is physically talented, many times we think that greatness is defined by the people we watch on TV or in the movies. We define greatness as someone who is beautiful, someone who is intelligent, someone who sings well like a Lea Salonga or maybe a Jessica Sanchez.

I believe that we too have greatness in stored within us. I truly believe that because, the God who created Jordan, Lea, or even a Manny Pacquiao etc etc are the same God who has created us.

It’s only a matter of belief. Belief in yourself. God wants us to be blessed, but before he bless us, we should be ready. We should think, act that we are ready to receive, because if the soul is ready, the blessing will appear.

Redefine Money

I have been involve in multi-level marketing business for so long and it amazes me when people are  asked in the beginning of the seminar, “sino ang gusting yumaman? Taas ang kamay!” (Who wants to be rich? Raise your hands!) , and then you will see that almost all of the audience raises their hands with smile on their faces, some of them even shouting , “ako!!!” (Me!!!) As I looked at some of them, I just thought to myself  , “weh, di nga?” (sorry i don't know how to translate this haha/ unbelievable?!)

You see a lot of us has misconception about money. Some people have a crazy definition that money equates to evil. Some people believe that a rich person is a bad person. They sometimes think that if you have too much pesos or dollars in your bank account, you’re a greedy person.

World renowned preacher and financial guru,Bo Sanchez said that we have this thing called “emotional attachments” for every object here on earth. We define money as evil. But I do not believe money is bad, do you know why? Because God says so.

It is God who gives you the power to create wealth. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

If money is evil, God will not give us the power to create it. In fact according to this verse, we have his permission. He allows us to create wealth. He wants us to be rich. So instead of us defining money as evil, let us redefine it as money is God’s power.

Its all about belief. The size of your dreams would depend on the size of your belief. If you have mango seed and you plant it in a small pot. Do you think the mango seed would grow to its own size and become a mango tree. No!! Of course not, if you plant a mango seed on a small pot, you might end up with a bonsai mango plant. The only solution to this is to transfer your seed to a much much bigger pot.

It works the same way with your belief, the pot represents your belief and the only way to grow your seed of abundance is to make your pot as humongous as it can be.

You maybe saying but Ludwig I came from a poor family, i wasn’t able to finish my studies, I’m only a high school graduate, I can’t do that. Friends remember this, your past does not define your future. Hollywood actor Will Smith said that, “Where you were doesn’t really matter, what matters is where your going to be.”

It doesn’t really matter. You may be small right now. You may be a seed. But remember this, inside this mango seed is a tree.

Inside you is a millionaire.

Inside you is the truly rich.

Inside you is success.

God is rooting for your truimph. God rejoices when He sees you start working on your dream.

Invest for your future

Successful people always think long-term. And the longer their timeframe, the more successful they are. Successful people think about the next five years. Or the next 10 years. Or the next 20 years. How about you? -  Eternally Yours…God

Why is it important to invest? I’m sure you heard this word before. I did. I think I heard it from accounting 101, or maybe statistics during high school. But I never really gave importance to it, like it was a foreign word or something. I thought before that investing is only for people who have lots of money. I thought investing is only done by the rich, the affluent, the wealthy.

I was wrong.

I learned that investing is something that we have to do even if we are not rich yet. In fact, if you really want to be wealthy, you need to start investing. It is not something that you need to do when your old, it is something that you should do while your still young. This means you have to start now. As in now, ASAP.

There are two kinds of investor in this world:

1.  Short Term Investor

2. Long Term Investor

Short Term Investors

These are the people who doesn’t think of the future, they live like as if there is no tomorrow. They live within the philosophy of a line in the Lion King Movie ..  “Hakuna Matata”, which means no worry, live for today, eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you may die.

There was once a guy name Joe. He is a typical hardworking man, he has been working with his job for so many years now. One day he got a chance to speak to one of his wealthy classmate who is a businessman and financial advisor named Peter.

Peter was a bit alarmed and worried with his friend Joe. He learned that he doesn’t have any savings in his bank. So he told Joe that, I strongly advise you that you save and start investing your money for your future. Joe said, well Peter, “I don’t need to invest for my future.” Peter asked, “Why?”. Joe answered because I will die when I am 50 years old. Peter said, “Well I’m sorry to hear that Joe, but what if at 50, your still alive? Then what? While it is true that there is nothing wrong with the eating, drinking and being merry for the day, but what happens if tomorrow you don’t die. What if you live? And you live ‘til 90 years old. Did you know that the average lifespan of human beings are getting longer and longer every year?

Short Term investors can be likened to a farmer who plants a monggo seed. When you plant this seed, you can actually start harvesting it after a day or two. Then you have your own “togue”. There’s nothing  wrong with eating that. I eat “togue”. But the problem is when you run out of food, you start planting again, and you have to do this everyday for the rest of your life.

Long Term Investors

I firmly believe that if you want to be financially successful in life, you have to invest in the long-term. You can’t just be in a “live for the day” attitude. Success doesn’t come overnightt. Walt Disney said, “it takes 20 years of hardwork, determination and dedication to become an overnight success.

Long term investors are farmer too. But instead of planting monggo seeds, they plant mango seeds. It takes years before a mango seed turn into a mango tree.

My aunt, whom we call Tita Cielo, owns a farm in Bulacan, they have at least 4-5 acres of land filled with mango trees. Once I stood there in amazement on how big those trees are, they are all giants! Little did I know at that time that those trees have been standing there for at least 30-40 years. Even older than I am.

When I was young, I remember that our neighbor had this giant mango tree planted in their backyard It  had been there for as long as I can remember. One day, a powerful storm came, I don’t know I it was “rosing”, “during”, or “ning-ning”, there’s so many of them! The giant branches of that tree came swaying, I felt many times that this tree would come crashing into me, because my room was located very near that tree. Man, was I scared that time. I couldn’t sleep!

There was also a time when my dad noticed that the walls that divides our house from our neighbor’s are cracking. Ask me why? It is because the mango trees roots are destroying it. Yes, after all this years the tree is still growing.

This, my friend is what happens when you invest for the long term. You plant once, and take care of your seed, make it grow, tender it,  and soon like the mango tree, even if your old, or even when you die. It will still keep growing, it will keep bearing fruit, whether you like it or not.

In the following articles, I will share with you the secrets in having an abundant life in all areas. But for now, I would leave you with one question.

Did you know that Spiritual people are the most successful?

I’ll tell you why soon.

Let the Master step in

Did you bump into someone you wanted to talk to badly? Did a door of opportunity just open when you need it? Did you discover some money to fill in a shortage in your budget? Nothing happens by chance. I order all things to provide for what you need at the right time. - The One Who Turns All Things Unto Good , God

Let me tell you a story.

There was once this little child who loved playing the piano. He was only 5 years old. Nobody ever thought him how to play, never had any formal training. In fact the only musical piece he knows is “Chopsticks”.

So many people have been discouraging him. They are saying that he was too small and too young to play. However this little kid did not mind. He just kept on practicing everyday. One day his father surprised him with two tickets on a symphony concert on their town. There is this world renowned Italian pianist as the main attraction. This pianist, not only is he so popular but he is also so talented. He is often called the master.

When concert night came,  as father and son walked through their seats in the big auditorium, the little boy saw, behind the curtains. the biggest, most beautiful grand piano he had ever seen. He was grinning with sheer delight when he saw it. Excited as he is, he snuck out and went to the piano and began to play his favorite tune “Chopsticks”.

Engrossed by his playing, he didn’t know the curtain has risen. The audience expecting to see the master pianist was shocked to see a little boy hump over the piano. Suddenly the kid realized where he was and felt so petrified, he was about to stand up and leave but he felt two giant arms around him. It was the master pianist. He told the little boy, “Just keep playing”, then the master joined in with a beautiful Beethoven symphony scored in the same cadence and the same key.

With the master’s guidance he then signaled for the orchestra in as well, first the woodwinds, then the brass, then percussions. The music was so beautiful. So relaxing. The father who was seated and watching all of this was getting teary eyed. He could not believe that a simple, elementary rendition of “chopsticks” that he hears everyday in his living room could ever be turned into a beautifully  orchestrated Beethoven symphony.

How did this happen? Very simple: the master stepped in.

Friends, did you ever sometimes wonder how lucky you are? If you look at your life closely, all the little things that you have right now, have you ever asked yourself that once upon a time, all the things happening into your life was just a dream, a fantasy.

Maybe this morning you were just simply busy doing your laundry, come afternoon you receive a phone call that your US visa was released.

Or, maybe yesterday you are so dead worried about your household bills, then today you receive a text message that your loan was approved.

Or, a month ago you are looking for a way to increase your income, then today a friend of you came and invited you to an opportunity meeting and suddenly you are so excited because you now have a chance to fulfill your dreams.

Or maybe ten years ago you where just a simple student, living in a small house with your parents, the house is so small that one step forward is your living room, one step to the left is your rest room, one step to the right is your bedroom, and now you are working abroad with a nice rented apartment with air condition provided by your employer.

We ask ourselves, how did this happen? Where did this lucky breaks come from? How did I get here? This is not suppose to happen, I’m just ordinary person.

I bet sometime you do think of yourself as ordinary  We think of ourselves as someone who has average skills, average talent, average intelligence.

When I was young the immediate goal was to finish my studies. Life back then was so simple, but let me tell you, come our periodical exams, life for me was so hard. I mean with all the memorization, calculation, reading, writing, listening to your boring professor, acting behave with a terror teacher, man these were all hard work.

I asked myself. “How on earth could I pass these subjects?”  I’m just an ordinary average student.

The answer is very simple. The Master, our God has stepped in.

I believe He gave us our natural talents, natural gifts, natural intelligence, but along with
this He added his super. Yes, he has turned our natural into supernatural. Our simple music into a grand orchestrated symphony.

Look at the richest man of our country Henry Siy, once upon a time he was just a simple boy who shines shoes, sells goods in carriedo. An ordinary person, average. But something happened. The Master stepped in and turned his ordinary into a super extraordinary, that little “super” made him build his businesses and then later own the country’s most popular mall, Shoemart. Last week, I was seating beside his giant ferris wheel at the Mall of Asia. As I stare at this ferris wheel, I can’t help but wonder, how on earth could a former shoe shine boy could ever own something like this?

Luck? Chance?

I believe what people may call in as luck or chance is actually “The loving hand of God”

He will give us supernatural breaks. And just like in the story, he would bring in the brass - the right people, the woodwinds – the right opportunity. Then later on we would be playing our grandest symphony that would make the world wonder with ahhhs and oooohss.

Don’t lose hope. I suggest we continue doing what we are good at, use our natural gifts and let God stepped in to bring his “super” and then turn our gifts, our blessings as supernatural.

Let the Master step in.

Time is indeed gold

Today I give you the gift of 24 hours. It’s like a lump of clay that you can make into anything you wish it to be. You can let time pass you by idly or you can spend every minute enjoying life, loving others and serving Me. So what will it be? - GOD
I’ve met a lot of people thru social networking and I am amazed at some of the stories of people who at their middle age find themselves living a life of emptiness. Some of these people are like zombies. Lifeless… Not knowing where they are, not knowing where they going. If life is an airplane, they are the pilot, but they are the type of a pilot who runs the plane automatically, in other words auto-pilot. They did not even know how they took off much less where their destination is. They simply do not have any goals.

I believe life is a series of goals.  As a student many years ago, like just 10 years ago. (haha). I remember when I was in in grade 6, my ultimate goal at that time was to finish grade school and graduate so that I reached the secondary level or high-school. Now let me ask you something, did you also have the same goal as I had during these times?

When I reached high school, with all the excitement of having “barkadas” and crushes, my ultimate goal at that time was to graduate and reached college. Again, did you again have the same goal as I had during these times?

Now college came, I took up engineering, it is a 5 year course. Let me tell you something, I really didn’t know why I took up this course. You know why? Because it was all math!! I’m not good in math, but I love airplanes and really wanted to be a pilot but I felt that my parents could not afford to make me study flying so i took up engineering instead.

Here is where I realized that in college you don’t really need to be always smart or “matalino”. Because most of the time, you just need to be “mata-linaw” to pass. You need to have 20/20 vision in order to look over your seatmates test papers. (guilty?) I had a great time during college, lots of crazy things happened during those days. But behind the fun and excitement, I still did not loose my focus on my goal, and that is for me at that time, to graduate and finish my studies.  So with sheer effort, blood, sweat and tears, I passed the course and got my degree.

After college, I’ve set a goal of finding a job, and after just a few months, I got hired as a passenger service agent and worked at the airport.

The next question hit me

What next? Ito na ba yun? This is it? Am I stuck here for next 10, 20 or even 30 years of my life. I was able to ask that question because one of my boss who I believe at that time was already in his 60s is still, working for the company. Dito na ba ako tatanda? (Am I going to grow old here?) When I asked these questions to myself, I suddenly became afraid, and because of my fear I began to be paralyzed.

Now  the reason why I shared my story to you Is to let you know that, we should not let fear stop us from our setting goals. Their is a saying that the poorest person on this earth is not the man who has no money, but the man who has no goals.

Start setting new goals. It is hard to get thru life without ambitions. Just imagine you getting dressed up in the morning wearing your fancy clothes and expensive perfume, your hair neatly combed, shoes shined then you go out the garage and you ride your BMW. The problem is inside the car, with engine running you ask yourself, where am I going?

Seize the day

There is one thing that both rich and poor people have in common. That is time. We all have receive 24 hours in our life each day. Nobody has 25 hours. The only difference is what do with our time.

Do we spend the whole day just staring out the window? Daydreaming? Wishful thinking? Or are you like some of the employees I know who just simply go to work with a zombie face, doing things like clockwork, thinking to themselves, “what on earth am I doing in this company?”. They spend a lot of time looking at the bad, either they’re gossiping or complaining, they complain about their husbands and wives with their office mates Then after shift ends they go home to complain again. But this time they complain to their spouses about their boss. Ironic isn’t it? But the problem doesn’t end there. The problem is they continue to do this everyday. As in day in and day out.

Friends time is a gift, I suggest you live your life and the only way to do that is that you have to be intentional. There is so much joy to give, so much love to share. God has given us a lump of clay which we can mold to whatever we want. He has given us this wonderful gift called time. Let us not waste it. Please do not forget that we are all living in borrowed time.

Time is the only commodity that no amount of wealth in this world can buy.

Aim High, live life, love GOD!
