Be grateful today!

Some people can’t be grateful today. They’re waiting for something big to happen for them to be grateful. They say, “I’ll be grateful if I win the lotto,” or, “I’ll be grateful if I get promoted,” or, “I’ll be grateful if I have a baby.” 

            Don’t wait to be grateful. Be grateful now!


In the book The Secret by Rhondy Byrne, there is a whole chapter there that speaks about gratitude. It has been said that there is power when we are always grateful. Im not just talking about being grateful to the things that we already have, but to be grateful to the things we don’t’ have yet.


This is one of the secrets of the rich. They always think positive. They look in the future as being done deal. They see the so called universe as one big giant catalog or magazine, where you just look through the pages and choose the things that you want and then believe that they will have it.


Being grateful for things


Let me ask you something, Let’s just imagine that one night, you have this crazy dream, God appeared in front of you, and he said, “Hello my child, do you want to see what would happen to you this year? Come take a peek in this magic well and see for yourself.” You took a peek and you see yourself very wealthy. You have a loving family with you, you live in a beautiful house, and your driving a Mercedes benz or a BMW, you have big savings in the bank, you get to travel in different places, plus you donate 10% of your income to your church every month. What do you think you would be your first words to GOD?


Now I don’t know about you but I  would say THANK YOU LORD! Salamat! You’re the greatest! Then I would do the dance of joy!


However,something happened afterwards. You woke up.


What would you think your attitude would be after that dream. Would you be a different person? Would you start to be grateful? Would you always be happy? What if the next day somebody insulted you at work? Would you mind that person? I think you would start to let go of the small things that doesn’t really matter in your life. After all, it is God who appeared in your dreams, and he said all the things that you want would be given to you.


Friends when we pray, I suggest that don’t just simply ask God for what you want, thank Him already for receiving it. You see we have a word for that. Faith.


“If you have faith as a mustard seed, you would say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move. Then nothing would be impossible for you.”


Be grateful. Surrender yourself to Gods love.
